Albert Carder Obituary

Astoria - Albert Martin Carder was born in Redmond, Oregon on September 12, 1937, and died in Astoria, Oregon on June 14, 2025. He grew up on Prineville, Oregon, and graduated from Crook County High School in 1955. He went on to Oregon State University, where he earned his degree in accounting and met his future wife, Judith Wrenn, graduating in 1960.

Albert spent his working life as a CPA, first with Price Waterhouse in Portland, Oregon, and then with Niemi, Holland, and Scott in Kennewick, Washington. While living in Kennewick he was involved with Rotary and All Saints Episcopal Church, and was on the Board of Directors for Meadow Springs Country Club and Kadlec Hospital.

After retirement, Albert and Judy relocated to the northern Oregon coast. There he was a member and on the Board of Directors of Astoria Country Club, served as chairman of the Union Health District Board, was on the Gearhart City Council and the vestry of Calvary Episcopal Church.

Travel was a part of retirement life, too. Albert and Judy took a trip to China, a cruise to South America, and made several trips to Europe, where they were able to connect with their German exchange daughter, Andrea. He also especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Mitchell and the John Day River with his long-time friend, Stan; playing golf or cribbage with family or friends; singing in the Cannon Beach Chorus; and working in his garden, where he grew the best garlic and green beans.

Albert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy. Also surviving are sons Jim (Lisa), John, Steve (Deanna), and daughter Kate (Michael Medina); 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held July 12 at 12:30 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 503 N. Holladay Drive, Seaside, Oregon. A reception will follow at 2:00 pm at Astoria Golf and Country Club, 33445 Sunset Beach Lane, Warrenton, Oregon.
