Dave Ladd, 84, of Hammond, Oregon, passed away April 22, 2025, in Astoria, Oregon.

He was born November 26, 1940, in Macomb, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ladd; his mother, Lily Heidi; and his father, Orville Ladd.

Dave graduated from Warrenton High School and served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Fortuna Air Station in North Dakota. In 1961, he married Bonnie, and they settled in Hammond, where they raised their family.

He is survived by his sons Corey (Bert) Ladd, Steven Ladd, and Kevin (Bern) Ladd; and his grandchildren McKenzie, Nathan, Justin, and Amanda.

Dave spent much of his career as a long-haul truck driver, working for several companies in the area. As a member of the Teamsters Union, he also worked on films including The Goonies and Short Circuit. He and his wife Bonnie were active in the Viking Nordic Scandia Dance Group.

Dave was a jack of all trade, fixing cars and trucks, roofing houses, wiring electrical work, and taking on any project that came his way. He loved traveling to Hawaii, Greece, Scandinavia, and Canada. Clam digging along the Oregon coast was one of his favorite pastimes.

A graveside service will be held May 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton, Oregon. A memorial service will follow on May 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Peace First Lutheran Church, 725 33rd Street, Astoria, Oregon.
