Astoria, Oregon - he family of Debra Rae Browning regrets to share the information she died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Astoria, Oregon. She was born on July 22, 1958 and died at the age of 66, on May 22, 2025
Debra spent her growing up years in Newberg, Oregon where she liked riding her bike to her grandparents farm to spend time with her favorite horse, Candy. She graduated from Newberg High School. She was also married in Newberg.
Debra loved butterflies and with her husband, Hank Hazelett, founded Butterflies Forever. They established a butterfly garden in Seaside, Oregon that became a destination location for many years.
She was an accomplished businesswoman, owning and operating Debra Business Solutions. She had experience in non profit management, worked as a financial accountant and was a Notary Public.
For several years Debra had been involved with the Eastern Star organization, playing an active role in many of their endeavors.
Debra is survived by her ex-husband, Hank Hazelett of Astoria; her parents, Lila and Eldred Browning of Newberg, Oregon and her sister, Nila DeWolfe also of Newberg.
No information regarding a memorial service is available at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the butterfly pavilion; Rocky Mountain Butterfly Consortium in Westminster, Colorado.
