Eloise Ann Kluth Obituary

Tumwater - Eloise ANN Kluth. Born November 11, 1938, Died January 20,2025.

Ann went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2025. She passed away peacefully at the Hampton Alzheimer's memory care home in Tumwater, WA. She was born on Nov 11, 1938, to her parents Francis Marion and Dominga Eloise McGohan in Kelso, WA at the family home. Ann graduated from Kelso High School in 1956 and attended Lower Columbia Community College in Longview where she met Jerry Kym. She married Jerry Kym on June 14, 1957, and they had 4 sons.

Ann and Jerry moved to the Seattle area in 1967, where Ann was able to stay at home to care for her 4 boys. Ann and Jerry divorced in 1971. After their divorce she got her real estate license and sold houses in the Seattle area while raising her 4 boys.

Ann was remarried in 1974 to Harold J. Kluth. She then began working at Highline High School in Burien, WA.

Ann loved the beach where she would vacation with her parents beginning in the 1940's. Her parents built a cabin in Ocean Park for family to visit and go salmon fishing.

Because of Ann's love for the beach, her and Harold moved to Long Beach, WA in 1999. Ann worked at Hill Top elementary school in the registers office until her retirement a few years later.

Ann and Harold were members of the Peninsula Church of the Nazarene in Long Beach, Washington.

After Harold's passing Ann became very involved in church activities. She loved to drive and would pick up individuals who did not have transportation to and from church. She loved teaching the youth and sharing the love of Jesus, and she was involved with the church's missions' program. Most of all, Ann loved her property at the beach and her animals. She could be found working tirelessly on her acreage, feeding her chickens and the numerous squirrels, chipmunks, bears and birds that would surround her back porch waiting for the daily buffet she would put out for them. But her favorite animal was her precious 'Ellie', a wiry, witty and spoiled poodle she loved dearly. Anyone who came to visit Ann would be sharply reminded "don't run over my dog!"

In 1978 her firstborn son (Gregory Alan Kym) died in an automobile accident on the beach near Klipsan at the age of 20. She was also proceeded in death by her parents, (F.M. McGohan and Mickie McGohan), brother (Glen Alan McGohan), and husband (Harold Kluth).

She is survived by her sister Linda Evans of Butte, Montana, as well as her sons, Jeffery Kym (Sammamish, WA), David Kym (Horn Lake, MS) and Bryan Kym (Las Vegas, NV). Grandchildren, who fondly call her Nanny, Alisha Kym, Blaine Kym, Gregory Ambrose (Kym), David Cameron Kym, and Kayla Kym. She has 9 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held 11:00AM Saturday June 7, 2025 at Peninsula Church of the Nazarene in Long Beach, Washington. Interment to follow on June 9, 2025 at Tahoma National Cemetery to join her husband Harold.
