Salem, Oregon - It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Moss, age 77, of Salem, Oregon. Linda passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at Boone Ridge Retirement Home.

Born on March 3, 1948, in Salem, Oregon, Linda was the daughter of Alvin Monroe Leach and Ruby Theresa Tays. She grew up in Independence and Monmouth, Oregon, where she enjoyed a happy childhood and began developing the qualities of warmth and determination that would define her life. During her high school years at Central High School, she was an active and spirited student, serving as Pep Club President and running for class secretary—a race she lost by only three votes.

Linda went on to attend Oregon State University, where she became a lifelong and devoted Beaver fan, never missing a game on TV. After graduating, she dedicated more than 35 years to teaching Home Economics in Astoria, Oregon. Through her teaching, Linda touched the lives of countless students, passing along not just valuable skills but lessons about life, kindness, and perseverance.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Amber Shaw; her grandsons, Dominic and Spencer Shaw; and her sisters, Jan and Karen. She shared a lifelong bond with her sisters, filled with love, laughter, and countless family memories. Their relationship was one of strength and support, and the closeness they shared was a source of comfort throughout her life.

Those who knew Linda will remember her wisdom, her laughter, and the way she brought people together. She loved getting together with her friends at the McDonald's near her Salem apartment every morning, sipping on a Diet Coke and sharing stories. She also treasured her mornings spent driving her grandson to school, where the two of them would listen to orchestra music together—a memory that will forever live in his heart.

Linda shared her knowledge of life freely, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and teaching. Her warmth, her wit, and the lessons she passed down will continue to guide those who loved her most.
