Astoria, Oregon - Marion G. Youngren passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born in Portland, Oregon on November 15, 1930, grew up and attended school in Oregon City where she met and married her husband, Art. Astoria has been Marion's home for the past 70 years where she raised her family.

She worked at the Owl Drug Store for 42 years, choosing to fully retire at the age of 82. She was a dedicated walker, walking to work from her home almost every day. She was a lifetime supporter of Astoria Babe Ruth and Little Leagues. In her early years in Astoria, she coached women's softball. Marion was a member of the Elks Lodge Women's Auxiliary, and Anchors and helped with the Astoria Regatta. For many years she was known for her Almond Roca, making delicious zucchini bread and berry jams.

Marion was always willing to help others. She was active in her neighborhood helping organize block garage sales and cared for neighbors 'pets while they vacationed.

Marion is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur and daughter, Gail Youngren, her parents, Robert and Evelyn Palmer and brothers, Robert Palmer Jr. and William (Bill) Palmer.

She is survived by her children Karen Cly, Melvin/Buz (Susie) Youngren and Teresa Youngren-Brown. Grandchildren Jason Cly, Vicki Cly-Bruton (Earl), Trent (Tara), Grant (Lindsey) and Scott (Chelsea) Youngren, Kia and Mara Youngren-Brown, Arania (Rick) Comstock-Perez, Stephan M, Jenifer Mittlestadt, Lea Owensby. Fifteen great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren. Marion will be laid to rest near her husband at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A celebration of life to be announced later.

Marion lived her life with kindness and love for her family, neighbors, friends, and community. Donations to your favorite cause or organization to honor her spirit are welcome.
