Patricia McDonald Obituary

Lake Oswego, Oregon - Patricia McDonald passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on June 14, 1937, in Portland, Oregon, to Frances and William Palmer. She graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to pursue studies at the University of Oregon and OHSU, ultimately earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Harper Community College in 1977. Patricia married Michael McDonald, on March 21, 1959. Patricia worked as a geriatric nurse across Illinois, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Kentucky. In 1990, she returned home to Oregon, where she served as a nurse with the Red Cross. After retirement Patricia was a member of P.E.O. and volunteered at the Columbia River Maritime Museum and the Liberty Theatre in Astoria, Oregon. She is survived by her children: daughter Debora May (Tom), and sons Michael Peter (Susan) and David Joseph (Bobbie). She was a beloved grandmother to Elizabeth (Doug), Steven (Desirae), Daniel, Christopher (Samantha), Adam (Hayley), William, and Sarah (Theresa), and a great-grandmother to Emma Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Mike. Donations may be made to the Columbia River Maritime Museum or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A memorial service will be held on July 17th at the Chapel of the Holy Names at Mary's Woods in Lake Oswego, Oregon at 11am. Reception to follow.
