Ronald Dean Chaffee (Ronch) Obituary
Ronald Dean Chaffee, born November 10, 1964, was called home on Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Portland, Oregon after a courageous battle with cancer. There to meet him were his parents, Jack and Marilyn, along with his brother Jeff (Duffy).
After graduating from Lake City High School in 1982, Ron enlisted in the United States Army where he gained a love for travel and learned the trade of commercial truck driving which became his lifelong career.
Ron was the proud father of Ronald Simmons, Daniel Dowell, Ashley Kotalik, and Jaxon Chaffee. Left to carry on his legacy are his eight grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Greg and sister, Shelly (Harwell).
Known for his magnetic charm, sense of humor and unwavering dedication to the Detroit Lions, he will be missed by all.
A private vigil was held by loved ones near to honor Ron's passing. It was his desire to be cremated and interned at the Bloomfield Township, Michigan Cemetery with his family. A public social will be held in Astoria Oregon on a future date to be determined for friends and local acquaintances.
